A convenient vectornotation is introduced in order to recastthe multicomponent flow governing equations into a compact form.The mathematical structure of multicomponent flow equationsis then addressed byusing symmetrized equations.Such a structure is important for theoretical as well as numerical purposes.Finally,Computational reactive Fluid Dynamics---whichis nowadays a major tool in understanding ofcomplex flows---is discussed.
